Our focus is on providing consistent medical care in an environment built on respect, privacy, and trust. Seeking help takes courage. We offer a supportive, professional environment where your concerns are heard and your care is never rushed.

Because progress looks different for everyone, and treatment should respect your individual pace and needs.

Understanding the Methadone Program

Methadone is a long-acting opioid medication that reduces cravings and prevents withdrawal symptoms. When taken at the right dose, it helps you function normally without producing a high.

Methadone stabilizes brain chemistry, reduces the urge to use, and lowers the risks associated with illicit opioid use. It allows you to focus on daily life and long-term recovery.

When you first start, you may feel drowsy or lightheaded, but your body will adjust once you are on a stable dose. For most people, this adjustment takes about two to four weeks.

Methadone is taken as a liquid dose at the clinic under supervision. As you demonstrate stability, you may become eligible for take-home carries.

Common side effects include constipation, sweating, and drowsiness. These usually improve over time. Our team monitors and adjusts your plan as needed.

Yes. It is important to tell your care team about all medications and substances you use. Some interactions can be serious, and your physician will manage them carefully.

There is no fixed timeline. Some patients benefit from months of treatment, others from years. Duration is based on your progress and decided together with your care team.

Yes. If methadone is not the right fit, our team can safely transition you to Suboxone® or Kadian® based on your needs.

At a stable dose, most patients work, drive, and carry out daily activities without impairment.

Methadone is safe when prescribed and monitored by qualified professionals. Risks increase with unsupervised use or mixing with other substances, which is why clinical oversight is essential.
